Is there any doubt? Not only are the Horned Frogs the best team in the Mountain West, they may be the best team in the country. You won't see an offensive explosion like that against Utah very often. Now BCS-bound, barring a disaster of epic proportions.
2
Utah
5-1
8-2
The beatdown in Fort Worth brought the Utes back down to earth. Still, 8-2 in a rebuilding year is outstanding and the future is bright for Jordan Wynn.
3
BYU
5-1
8-2
Can't move up the Cougars after an embarrassing win. That's right, an embarrassing win. If they play like that against Air Force they will lose.
4
Air Force
5-2
7-4
BYU offers the last chance to beat one of the "Big Three." Falcons continue to beat up the teams they should beat up but they are starving for a marquee win. BYU better be ready come Saturday.
5
Wyoming
3-3
5-5
Nice comeback versus Aztecs. If the Cowboys can win the Border War against Colorado State in two weeks they will go to a bowl game for the first time since 2004. Can you believe that?
6
San Diego State
2-4
4-6
Blew a 21 point 4th quarter lead at home to Wyoming and any chance they had of becoming bowl eligible unless they can upset the Utes on the road Saturday.
7
UNLV
2-5
4-7
Mike Sanford is now officially a lame duck. 15-43 record in 5 seasons and no bowl games. UNLV should be able to do better than that in this league. What took so long?
8
Colorado State
0-6
3-7
Didn't play; didn't lose. We wonder if CSU fans even noticed that the Rams had a bye last week?
9
New Mexico
0-6
0-10
Can Aho hit the goal post again? Watching kicker James Aho hit the uprights on two field goal attempts and an extra point in a 5 point loss reminds us why the Lobos are 0-10. The Lobos did play their best game of the year against the Cougars though.
