RENO, Nev. (AP) — Nevada guard Marcus Marshall has been named the Mountain West Conference basketball player of the week after averaging 27 points a game in a pair of victories last week.
The senior from St. Paul, Minnesota made 11 of his 18 attempts from 3-point range and 15-of-16 free throws.
He also averaged 4.5 assists, 4 rebounds and 1.5 steals as the Wolf Pack held onto a share of first-place in the league with wins at home against Boise State, 85-77, and at UNLV, 94-58.
Marshall finished with 28 points on 10-of-16 shooting from the field against the Rebels.
Nevada plays at San Jose State on Wednesday before closing the season at home Saturday against MWC co-leader Colorado State.
