EVANSVILLE, Ind. (AP) — Jaylon Brown and Ryan Taylor combined to score 44 points as Evansville stayed perfect at home after a 78-46 romp past regional rival Murray State on Saturday.
Coming off a 69-66 win over Bowling Green at home, Evansville raced to a 46-21 lead in the first half and pulled away down the stretch.
Brown, who scored 29 in the win over Bowling Green, netted 24 against the Racers by going 4-for-4 from distance. It was the fifth time in the last eight games that Brown reached the 20-point plateau.
Taylor finished with 20 points for the Purple Aces (6-4), who shot 26 of 56 from the field (46.4 percent), including 8 of 14 from beyond the arc, to win their sixth straight home game.
Jonathan Stark and Bryce Jones each finished with nine points to top the Murray State (4-5), which now is 0-4 on the road.
