WASHINGTON (AP) — Sa'eed Nelson had 22 points and nine rebounds, Mark Gasperini added 14 points and seven boards, and American beat Youngstown State 77-62 on Saturday for its second win of the season.

American scored the final 14 points of the first half after holding YSU scoreless for nearly six minutes. The Eagles led by nine at the break and Youngstown State didn't hit the 30-point mark until 16:06 remaining.

Delante Jones scored 12 points and grabbed eight rebounds for American (2-7), which has won twice in four games. The Eagles outrebounded the Penguins 46-34.

Cameron Morse led Youngstown State (5-6) with 21 points and six rebounds for his 22nd 20-plus game of his career. Braun Hartfield added 12 points and Devin Haygood 10.

The Penguins were just 2 of 15 from 3-point range and made just 36.5 percent overall.
