BOWLING GREEN, Ohio (AP) — Dylan Frye scored a career-high 18 points and Wes Alcegaire added 16 and Bowling Green defeated Detroit Mercy 74-61 on Saturday.

Frye made 4 of 7 3-point attempts, Rodrick Caldwell added a career high 13 points and Zack Denny had 10 points and eight rebounds for the Falcons (4-6), who snapped a two-game losing streak.

The Titans (1-9), who lost their ninth straight, scored the first basket of the second half to lead 40-31 before Bowling Green went on a 16-0 run to take the lead for good.

Leading 52-47, Caldwell made 3 of 4 free throws after Detroit was called for a common and flagrant foul, and Frye scored on the resulting possession to lead by 10.

A Frey 3-pointer gave the Falcons a 69-56 lead with 1:38 left.

Detroit, which has lost three straight games it led in the second half, got 16 points from Jaleel Hogan.
