DALLAS (AP) — Ben Moore scored 16 points with 11 rebounds, Semi Ojeleye added 15 points and SMU topped Delaware State 70-64 on Sunday.
Moore went 6 of 7 from the field and made 4 of 6 free throw attempts. Sterling Brown had 11 points, 13 rebounds and five assists and Harry Froling had 11 as the Mustangs shot over 47 percent overall and outrebounded the Hornets 42-21.
Devin Morgan led Delaware State (2-7) with 23 points, while Kavon Waller and Mrdjan Gasevic added 10 points apiece.
Delaware State led by one early in the second half. Ojeleye nailed a 3-pointer to put SMU up 43-41, and then Shake Milton hit from long distance to make it 46-42. After a 10-point run a little later, SMU cruised the rest of the way. The Mustangs dominated the paint, outscoring DSU 34-18.
