Stony Brook forces 5 turnovers in 28-3 win over Delaware

NEWARK, Del. (AP) — Stacey Bedell ran for 120 yards and two touchdowns and Stony Brook outscored Delaware 21-0 in the second half for a 28-3 win on Saturday.

It was the first ever meeting between the two schools.

Joe Carbone added 45 yards and a score on the ground for Stony Brook (5-2, 4-0 Colonial Athletic Association), which ran for 210 yards and three scores as a team and forced five Delaware turnovers defensively.

Stony Brook's Jaheem Woods returned a fumble 55 yards for a score on the Blue Hens' first possession of the game. Carbone had a 24-yard TD run in the 3rd quarter, and Bedell added two 4th quarter scores for the Seawolves.

Frank Raggo netted the only points for Delaware (2-5, 0-4) with a 23-yard field goal late in the 1st quarter. Joe Walker led Delaware with 134 yards passing.

The win gave Stony Brook three straight, while Delaware has lost five-in-a-row.
