GAINESVILLE, Fla. (AP) — No. 25 Florida has ruled out receiver C.J. Worton for its season opener Saturday against UMass.

Coach Jim McElwain said Wednesday that Worton, who is being counted on to be a significant part of the receiving corps, won't be available because of a high ankle sprain. Worton hasn't practiced since injuring his right ankle about three weeks ago.

His absence, a lingering knee injury to Kalif Jackson and at least two suspensions leave the Gators thin at receiver against the Minutemen.

Freshman receivers Tyrie Cleveland and Rick Wells are suspended for the opener after being charged with firing BB guns in a residence hall in July.

McElwain said Florida will rotate six scholarship receivers Saturday night: Antonio Callaway, Dre Massey, Brandon Powell, Ahmad Fulwood, Josh Hammond and Freddie Swain.
