Toledo rallies to beat Buffalo behind Williams

BUFFALO, N.Y. (AP) — Jonathan Williams scored 15 points, including the game-winning basket, and Toledo rallied to beat Buffalo 71-69 Tuesday night.

Zach Garber added 13 points, Nate Navigato and Nathan Boothe added 11 apiece and Boothe had 11 boards for the Rockets (15-9, 6-5 Mid-American Conference).

Trailing by nine a halftime, Toledo got consecutive 3-pointers by Jaelan Sanford and Boothe, then closed to within 59-52 on Garber's free throw with 9:13 to go.

Navigato hit a 3 amid a 7-0 Toledo run and the Rockets trailed by one, 67-66, then Williams hit a 3-pointer with 39 seconds left to tie it at 69.

Buffalo's CJ Massinburg missed a jumper, Boothe grabbed the rebound and Williams made a layup for the win with 2 seconds left.

Stuckey Mosley scored 10 for Toledo, which shot 37 percent from the field but made 19 of 23 free throws.

Nick Perkins scored a career-high 17 for Buffalo (14-10, 7-4).
