BINGHAMTON, N.Y. (AP) — Evan Singletary scored 19 points and Albany reached 20 wins for the second straight season, defeating Binghamton 69-56 on Monday night.
Singletary finished just short of his sixth 20-point game, Joe Cremo added 13 points and Mike Rowley scored 10 points with 10 rebounds for Albany (20-6, 9-2 America East Conference), two-time defending AEC champions.
Singletary and Peter Hooley drained 3-pointers as the Great Danes launched a 16-6 game-opening run. Binghamton rallied to tie at 27 and trailed 33-31 at halftime. Albany started the second half on a 7-1 run for its fifth-straight win in conference.
Dusan Perovic, a 6-foot-9 sophomore from Montenegro, scored a season-high 24 points for Binghamton (5-19, 2-9), which has lost 12 straight games against Albany.
Freshman Thomas Bruce added 12 points and Willie Rodriguez, a sophomore, scored 11 with seven rebounds for the Bearcats, whose current rotation fields no seniors. The game drew a season-high 4,923 fans.
