GREENVILLE, S.C. (AP) — Stephen Croone scored 17 points to help lead Furman to a 79-72 win over UNC-Greensboro on Monday night.

Kris Acox finished with 15 points and eight rebounds while Matt Rafferty also pulled in eight boards to go with his 11 points for Furman (15-11, 9-4 Southern Conference), which has won six of seven.

The Paladins shot 52.9 percent from the field and had 15 total assists on their 27 made field goals.

Kayel Locke scored 19 to lead UNC-Greensboro (9-16, 5-7). Diante Baldwin and Francis Alonso each had 12.

Furman did not trail in the second half and opened up an eight-point lead (47-39) on a Rafferty 3-point play with 14:25 to go. The Spartans battled back to 64-61 on two Baldwin free throws, but Croone made a layup and Acox hit 3 of 4 at the line to extend the lead back to eight in the final minutes.
