MUNCIE, Ind. (AP) — Francis Kiapway scored 14 points, including 5 of 6 free throws in the final 31 seconds, and Ball State held back IUPUI 61-58 on Tuesday night for its fifth straight victory.

Darell Combs drove baseline and made a layup with 20 seconds left to cut IUPUI's deficit to 57-56. Ball State broke the press and Kiapway made two free throws with 11.2 seconds left for a 59-56 lead. Combs attacked the basket, was fouled in the lane, and hit both free throws with 3.1 seconds left.

Kiapway made two from the stripe with 2.3 seconds remaining and Mason Archie II had a pretty good look from midcourt but it didn't hit rim at the buzzer.

Ryan Weber added 12 points for Ball State (6-2) and Trey Moses had 10.

Combs led IUPUI (2-6) with 22 points on 8-of-12 shooting. Matt O'Leary added 10 points.
