BATON ROUGE, La. (AP) — Shawn Prudhomme scored 17 points and added six rebounds to help lead Southern to a 96-63 victory over NAIA Paul Quinn College on Monday night.

Adrian Rodgers and Trelun Banks each finished with 14 points with Banks adding five assists for the Jaguars (4-1), who shot a red hot 59.2 percent from the field, out rebounded Paul Quinn by 20 (45-25), and forced 16 Tigers turnovers on defense.

Southern used a 31-7 scoring stretch midway through the first half, finished off by a Chris Thomas 3-point play, to take a 55-27 lead at halftime. A D'Arian Allen dunk midway through the second half pushed the lead to 44 (86-42). The closest Paul Quinn got the rest of the night was 29 points, after a Blake Ervin 3-point play late.

Ervin finished with 26 points to lead Paul Quinn.
