SACRAMENTO, Calif. (AP) — Marcus Graves scored 19 points, Cody Demps added 17 and Sacramento held off Pacific, 79-71 Sunday night in the second day of the Sacramento State Invitational.

The game was the first meeting between the schools since 2009.

The Hornets (5-1) bounced back after losing their first game of the season, falling to South Dakota, 96-90 in the opening game of the tournament. Pacific lost both of its tourney games, falling to Eastern Washington Saturday, 70-63.

Graves was 7 of 13 from the field while dishing off a half-dozen assists for the Hornets. Demps was 7 of 15, including 3 of 4 from beyond the arc. Sacramento State shot 50 percent (28 of 56) and was 8 of 19 from deep.

Pacific (1-5) was led by T.J. Wallace with 19 points. D.J. Ursery added 13 points and Jacob Lampkin 12.

The Tigers shot 25 of 55 from the field (45.5 percent).
