SAN LUIS OBISPO, Calif. (AP) — Joel Awich and Brian Bennett scored 14 points apiece to help Cal Poly beat NAIA Antelope Valley 85-55 Saturday night.

Awich added eight rebounds and two blocked shots. Bennett made 6 of 8 field goals.

Luke Meikle scored 13, Ridge Shipley had 12 points and Reese Morgan added 10 for Cal Poly (4-2).

Awich had a layup and a dunk to spark a 17-2 run that pushed the Mustangs' lead to 59-36 midway through the second half. Trevor John's 3-pointer with 2:28 to play gave Cal Poly a 32-point lead, 83-51, its biggest of the game.

Antelope Valley made just 22 of 59 (37 percent) field goals, including 4 of 21 from 3-point range.

Cal Poly had 21 assists on 34 field goals and outrebounded the Pioneers 45-35.

Bobby Johnson scored 13 and Josh Sanchez added 10 points for Antelope Valley.
