Peak leads Georgetown to 77-47 win over Bryant

WASHINGTON (AP) — L.J. Peak scored 20 points and Georgetown rolled to a 77-47 win over Bryant on Saturday.

Isaac Copeland added 13 points, Marcus Derrickson had 12 and Bradley Hayes 10 for the Hoyas (2-3).

Marcel Pettway had 15 points and 10 rebounds for the Bulldogs (2-4). Dan Garvin also had 10 boards for Bryant.

Georgetown's defense throttled Bryant, forcing the Bulldogs to 34 percent shooting (19 of 56), including 4 of 25 from 3-point range. Bryant also went 5 of 15 from the foul line and had 14 turnovers.

The Hoyas, who led 40-26 at halftime, shot 43 percent, making 7 of 28 3s, and went 18 of 24 from the free-throw line.

Georgetown closed the first half with an 11-2 run, starting with Derrickson's layup at 3:42. Copeland had a 3 and then a steal and layup to cap the spurt. Copeland also opened the second half with a 3.
