CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas (AP) — Jaylen Franklin scored 16 points and Abilene Christian beat Florida A&M 72-62 in the Corpus Christi Coastal Classic on Friday night.
Franklin was 4 of 6 from the floor. Jaren Lewis and Drake Green added 12 points apiece for Abilene Christian (3-2). Austin Cooke made three 3-pointers and finished with 11 points.
Malcolm Bernard had 18 points on 7-of-12 shooting with three steals to lead Florida A&M (2-4). K'Ja Johnson had 16 points and Mario Karailiev added 13 for the Rattlers.
The Wildcats led 32-24 at halftime before a 6-0 surge pulled the Rattlers to 37-35 early in the second half.
Abilene Christian used a 13-3 run to make it 50-38 midway through the second half and cruised from there. Franklin scored 14 points and Lewis added eight in the second half.
