PROVIDENCE, R.I. (AP) — Jacoby Armstrong scored 26 points on 9-of-14 shooting to help New Hampshire roll to an 88-77 victory over Brown on Tuesday night.
Jaleen Smith had 18 points with six assists for the Wildcats (3-1). Daniel Dion scored 12 points, Iba Camara had 10 points and grabbed 10 rebounds, and Keon Burns chipped in 10 points.
Cedric Kuakumensah had 15 points and JR Hobbie 12 for Brown (1-4). Steven Spieth scored 11 points with five assists, and Justin Massey added 11 points.
Armstrong scored 15 points in the first half, and it stayed within four points until the Wildcats used an 11-4 surge to take a 43-32 halftime lead.
The Bears could only pull to eight points several times in the second half before five-straight points by Kuakumensah cut the Wildcats lead to eight again, 79-71 with 2:16 to play. The Wildcats made 9 of 10 free throws to seal it.
