MONROE, La. (AP) — Matt Breida ran for two touchdowns, and Ken Butler Jr. returned a blocked punt 45 yards for a touchdown to lead Georgia Southern past Louisiana Monroe 51-31 on Saturday night.

Breida finished with 149 yards on 19 carries. LA Ramsby added 98 yards rushing and two touchdowns for the Eagles (4-1, 2-0 Sun Belt), who piled up 455 total yards rushing.

George Southern leapt out to a 31-3 lead before Louisiana Monroe finally scored its first touchdown on a 2-yard pass from Garrett Smith to Harley Scioneaux in the final minute of the first half.

Those were the first of 24-straight points reeled off by the Warhawks (1-3, 0-1), which cut their deficit to seven (31-24) early in the fourth. The Eagles answered on the ensuing drive however, when Ramsby ran for 41-yard score to put the game away.

Smith threw for 232 yards and three TD's for Louisiana Monroe.
