HATTIESBURG, Miss. (AP) — Nick Mullens threw four touchdown passes and ran for a score, and Southern Mississippi trounced North Texas 49-14 on Saturday night.

Mullens was 27 of 36 for 325 yards and no interceptions. Justice Hayes ran for 86 yards on 16 carries with a 2-yard touchdown, Ito Smith added 84 yards rushing and a touchdown, and Michael Thomas had seven catches for a career-high 155 yards and three scores for the Golden Eagles (3-2, 1-0 Conference USA).

Southern Miss generated 573 yards of offense and ran up a 35-0 score through three quarters as North Texas (0-4, 0-2) was overwhelmed.

Jeffrey Wilson ran for a career-high 136 yards on 22 carries for the Mean Green. Carlos Harris had nine catches for 136 yards and a 23-yard touchdown reception from Andrew McNulty, who went 11 of 21 for 131 yards.
