FAU pulls away in final minute to beat UAB 62-59

BOCA RATON, Fla. (AP) — C.J. Turman scored 13 points and grabbed nine rebounds as Florida Atlantic rallied to beat Alabama-Birmingham 62-59 Thursday night and snap its 11-game losing skid.

UAB (16-14, 12-5 Conference USA) had its three-game win streak snapped, and falls into a four-way tie for second place in the conference with a game remaining at Florida International (14-16, 7-10) on Saturday.

With UAB leading 59-56 with 1:25 to play, FAU hit a 3 to tie it at 59 with 47 seconds to go and pulled away for the win.

Jackson Trapp hit three 3-pointers and finished with 11 points. Solomon Poole scored 11 points, and Marquan Botley added six points with six assists for Florida Atlantic (9-19, 2-15).

William Lee scored 18 points and Chris Cokley chipped in 16 for UAB, which made just 2 of 10 from long range compared with 8 of 18 for FAU.
