MURFREESBORO, Tenn. (AP) — Middle Tennessee has dismissed forward Cheyenne Parker from its team for what the school described as violations of athletic department policy.
No details were given about the violations.
Parker was averaging 18.6 points and 11 rebounds per game, ranking second in Conference USA in both categories. Parker, a 6-foot-4 senior from Queens, New York, averaged 4 blocked shots per game to rank sixth among all Division I players.
She also had been suspended for the first five games of the season for violating unspecified athletic department policy. School officials said Friday she remains in good academic standing and is expected to finish the spring semester.
Parker was in her first season at Middle Tennessee after transferring from High Point.
Middle Tennessee (18-7, 12-3 Conference USA) hosts UAB on Saturday.
