IRVING, Texas (AP) — UTEP coach Tim Floyd was suspended for a game by Conference USA for failing to leave the court quickly after receiving two quick technical fouls and getting ejected in a loss at Louisiana Tech.
The league said Friday that Floyd violated the league's conduct policy, which calls for an automatic suspension if a coach doesn't leave the floor in a timely manner after an ejection. He will miss Saturday's game at Southern Miss.
The conference-leading Bulldogs took a big first-half lead that ballooned to 18 early in the second half of a 77-60 victory Thursday night. Floyd was ejected with 10:05 remaining.
The Miners had a chance to take the league lead with a win but instead saw a seven-game winning streak end.
