PROVO — Boise State visited Provo Friday night to face off against BYU and the Cougars did something they've never done before, they beat the Broncos.

BYU started out fast and the offense seemed to move the ball at will in the first half.

"LOOK MA! BYU QB Taysom Hill runs for a 20-yard TD as his parents cheer him on. BYU leads Boise St., 7-0," tweeted @SportsCenter.

The defense stifled the Boise offense in the first half and the Cougar offense moved the chains again and again thanks to an impressive night by Taysom Hill.

"Cougars QB Taysom Hill: 306 total yards, 3 total TD, including this 37-yd dime. ‪#BYU 24-3 at half," tweeted @ESPNCFB.

Hill's stats looked impressive against a competent Boise State team.

"Taysom Hill puts two throws right on the money. It's all about him improving, not weaker competition. He makes the competition look weak," tweeted ksl.com contributor and 1280 The Zone host Patrick Kinahan.

BYU managed to own the game in the first half, but like other games this season the third quarter was lagging for the Cougars and Boise started moving the ball, but it was too little too late.

"BYU's physicality against Boise St. Is ridiculous ... Impressive!" tweeted Craig Bolerjack.

Boise closed the gap to 34-20 and were within two scores. The Cougar offense managed to drive the field and get a field goal thanks to some solid running from Jamaal Williams.

"Guys, I'm glad that Taysom Hill and Jamaal Williams decided not to commit to Boise State," tweeted @zbloxham.

I think most of Cougar Nation is saying the same thing as BYU takes down Boise 37-20.

"First time Boise State has every lost a collage football game in the state of Utah!" tweeted @davisamis.

The Cougars have a bye next week and then will travel to Wisconsin to take on Gary Anderson's Badgers.
