SALT LAKE CITY — As if one local coaching rumor wasn't enough.

We already know that Utah State head coach Gary Andersen, one of the hottest names in all of college football, is listed as one of the top candidates to fill the coaching vacancy at Cal. Well apparently he isn't the only Utah coach with his name swirling around the rumor mill.

Denver Post columnist Woody Paige, famous for his classic lines on ESPN's "Around the Horn", reported late Thursday that BYU head coach Bronco Mendenhall, along with Cincinnati head coach Butch Jones, are "viable contenders to replace Jon Embree" at Colorado.

Paige states that a source close to the Buffaloes program said that both Mendenhall and Jones are winners, and that "they'd be major coups for (Colorado athletic director) Mike Bohn."

Would Bronco be interested in coaching elsewhere?

It's a possibility. In January 2011, BYU wanted Mendenhall to sign a five year contract extension, but instead opted for only a three year deal, which is set to expire at the end of the 2013 season.

"But there are some places that are very distinct. I'm not saying these are the places, but if you were to say Army or Navy or Air Force or one of the academies or a strong academic institution, there has to be something else besides football. Otherwise, I wouldn't be interested. I think everyone understands that," Mendenhall told reporters in January 2011.

It certainly would make Utah's rivalry with Colorado more intriguing. But it's probably safe to say that Colorado doesn't meet the qualifications of what Mendenhall is looking for.

Although if Denver Broncos quarterback Peyton Manning decides to throw in a couple of Papa Johns franchises to sweeten the deal, it could be a completely different story.

Because we all have an extra $89.99 lying around that is just burning a hole in your pockets, I bring you the 15 Best Selling NBA Jerseys of 2012.

LeBron James ranks #1 in jersey sales, with Kevin Durant at #2 and Kobe Bryant at #3. In all, three Los Angeles Lakers made the top 15 (Bryant, Howard, Nash).

Shockingly enough, no Utah Jazz players made the cut.

The team with the most jersey sales? You'd think it would be the Lakers, but not so fast! According to the AP, the New York Knicks have become the No. 1 franchise for total sales.

No fun? Get your money back!

Speaking of Lakers guard Steve Nash, it looks like his former team is working on a new publicity stunt to generate some sort of momentum for a squad that hasn't made the playoffs in two years.

On Dec. 6, the Phoenix Suns will host the Chicago Bulls in the NBA's first ever "Satisfaction Guarantee Night", guaranteeing that its fans will have fun at the game or they can get their money back.

"We know there's a risk to this," Suns president Jason Rowley said. "But all we're doing is standing behind my product."

Sounds like a good deal to me. Wish this was in place for the last three years of watching Runnin' Ute basketball.

Uh, Dad? Can we talk?

There probably isn't an instruction manual or do-it-yourself guide for how to fire someone you are related to. Especially when it is your father.

After a disappointing season, USC defensive coordinator Monte Kiffin made his son's life a little easier by resigning.

The Trojans lost four of its last five games, surrendering 161 points in the four losses.

Monte says that he stepped down to pursue his options again in the NFL.

At very least, it sure made the future Kiffin family get-togethers a little less weird.
