The decision to serve a full-time mission can be difficult, especially for athletes with chances at the pros.
For BYU guard Tyler Haws, one of the most successful high school basketball players to come out of Utah, the choice was easy because he made the decision early.
Haws put basketball on hold to serve the people of the Philippines. In the final days before he left on the mission, the Church produced a Youth Mormon Message about his story called 'A Work in Progress'.
During his mission, the video was able to be used as a tool to help inspire Filipinos to serve. Now back home and back on the court, Haws continues to speak to youth about the importance of serving a mission and how it has made him a better person and a better basketball player.
