SAN DIEGO (AP) — The NL West champion Los Angeles Dodgers moved Kenta Maeda up one day in their rotation so he can make two starts before the season ends.

Maeda had been scheduled to start Wednesday night against the San Diego Padres but was moved up to start the series opener Tuesday night.

Rookie right-hander Jose De Leon was moved back to Wednesday night. Manager Dave Roberts said rookie lefty Julio Urias will start Thursday night.

Roberts said his playoff rotation will be Clayton Kershaw, Rich Hill and Maeda.

The Dodgers will play the Washington Nationals in the Division Series. The Dodgers trail the Nationals by one game for home-field advantage.

The Nationals are expected to start Max Scherzer in Game 1 and Tanner Roark in Game 2.

Washington general manager Mike Rizzo said Tuesday it was unlikely Stephen Strasburg would be available for the NLDS.
