WASHINGTON (AP) — In a barrage of tweets early Saturday, President Donald Trump said he has "complete power" to issue pardons, defended his son in connection with the Russia investigations and took a swipe at Democratic campaign opponent Hillary Clinton. It was part of a series of messages he posted from his Twitter account starting at daybreak. It wasn't the first time the president has sent a rapid-fire series of tweets in a short time span to vent about things bothering him.

WASHINGTON (AP) — Chances that Congress will approve a bill with new sanctions against Russia have increased. That's because lawmakers of both parties have come together on a bipartisan bill aimed at punishing Moscow for meddling in the U.S. election last year and for its military aggression in Ukraine and Syria. Passage of the bill, possibly by August, could put Congress on a collision course with President Donald Trump, who's pushed for an improvement in relations between the U.S. and Russia.

LONDON (AP) — Prince William and Prince Harry are paying tribute to their mother, Princess Diana, as the 20th anniversary of her death in a car crash approaches. They speak of her sense of fun, her charitable works _ and the final phone call they had with her that they wish had lasted longer. Harry says that final chat is something he will regret until the end of his days. The ITV documentary "Diana, Our Mother: Her Life and Legacy" is airing Monday on British TV

NORFOLK, Va. (AP) — President Donald Trump says America's allies will rest easy and its enemies will shake with fear when they see the nation's newest aircraft carrier. Trump helped hand over the USS Gerald R. Ford to the Navy during a ceremony Saturday in Norfolk, Virginia. The president praised the bravery and spirit of U.S. service members and renewed his pledge to build up America's military.

KOS, Greece (AP) — Two strong aftershocks have struck the eastern Greek island of Kos within minutes of each other, sending startled residents and tourists scurrying away from buildings. The Athens Geodynamics Institute says a 4.4 magnitude tremor struck Saturday night at 8:09 p.m. followed by a 4.6 magnitude shock 16 minutes later. The tremors are among the strongest aftershocks since Friday's early morning quake that killed two men on Kos and injured nearly 500 other people across the Aegean Sea region.
