LONDON (AP) — A U.S. congressman says the bomb used in the Manchester Arena attack in England suggests a "level of sophistication" that could indicate its maker had foreign training. Texas Republican Mike McCaul, chairman of the House Homeland Security Committee, told The Associated Press that the bomb was "a classic explosive device used by terrorists." McCaul says the device used the explosive TATP, the same one used in the deadly November 2015 attacks in Paris and the March 2016 attack in Brussels.

BOZEMAN, Mont. (AP) — A political science professor at the University of Montana says it's unclear how Republican Greg Gianforte's physical confrontation with a reporter will play out in Thursday's special election for the state's sole House seat. Robert Saldin, who has followed the race closely, called Wednesday's altercation with Guardian reporter Ben Jacobs "nuts" but notes that a lot of voters have already cast their ballots. Jacobs says Gianforte body-slammed him as he was asking questions Wednesday.

WASHINGTON (AP) — A new analysis by Congress' nonpartisan budget scorekeepers undermines claims by House Republicans that their health legislation protects people with pre-existing conditions. Instead, the Congressional Budget Office "score" of the bill passed earlier this month says that in some cases, people with pre-existing conditions would not be able to purchase comprehensive health insurance at premiums comparable to those under current law, "if they could purchase it at all."

PITTSBURGH (AP) — All 12 jurors and six alternates have now been chosen for the Pennsylvania jury that will hear Bill Cosby's sexual assault trial. Two blacks are among the 12 people who joined the jury a day after the defense accused prosecutors of trying to send black jurors home. Leaving the Pittsburgh courthouse Wednesday evening, Cosby thanked local residents and fans.

UNDATED (AP) — A medicine made from marijuana, without the stuff that gives a high, cut seizures in kids with a severe form of epilepsy in a study that strengthens the case for more research into pot's possible health benefits. It is the first very scientific test of a marijuana extract for this problem.
