MOSCOW (AP) — Local police say a grenade explosion during a drunken argument in Russia's north has killed one person and wounded four others.

Police said Sunday that the argument at a village bus stop about 150 kilometers (95 miles) north of St. Petersburg turned ugly when one of the men left the scene and returned with a grenade in his hand. Police said the grenade exploded, killing the man on the spot, and wounding four others at the bus stop. Three of them were hospitalized.

Sunday is Easter under the Orthodox Christian calendar and the first day of a three-day holiday in Russia. Long holidays in Russia often entail deadly incidents connected to alcohol abuse.
