BRUSSELS (AP) — Greece's prime minister says his country will present a detailed proposal on how the country will respond to a financial crisis that has it teetering.
There was anger and frustration at an emergency meeting Tuesday in Brussels because participants said Alexis Tsipras (TSEE'-prahs) showed up empty handed.
After a later meeting he told reporters he had presented proposals. But's it's not clear if those proposals were formal or detailed.
Eurozone leaders say Greece has until Sunday to offer a detailed proposal aimed at presented a collapse. Patience has run out after months of foot-dragging. European Commission President Jean-Claude Juncker (zhahn-KLOHD' YUN'-kur) says the body has a detailed response if Greece has to exit the currency union.
Something must be done quickly. Greece is in loan default and its banks are days away from collapse.
