He was abandoned at only 6(?) weeks old and it boggles the mind... because Ratchet is Classic Puppy Cute! We guess he is a Beagle/Dachshund mix, or "Doxle" as the cutsie pet stores call them. We have also heard him called a "Beener Dog" and a "Weagle." Whatever his mix he is 100% darling!

Even though Ratchet is very smart and is already starting to ask to go out to potty we don't think he'd make a very good APARTMENT-type dog as this puppy is very active and loves to run! He surfs over the fall leaves with incredible speed, even though those little legs don't lift him very high off the ground. He loves to wrestle with his big dog friend here and we think he would adore a patient doggy pal, but some great kids to run with would be awesome too! He is just a little squirt, but this smarty is already great at fetch and is catching on with SIT and UP (stand on hind legs) too! We think he is a baby genius.

Ratchet is a little bit silly and crazy... okay a LOT... and often chases his tail, thunders around the house with a "stolen" toy, basically does his best to be a story book puppy. He would make a wonderful member of your family but we are a little picky because we love him so. So please plan on keeping this boy for LIFE, getting him fixed when he gets older (because cute though he is we would rather he did not contribute to Abandoned Puppies like himself!!!), and spoil him to pieces!!!! And if you have any questions at anytime, call me!!!!! His Pack of Foster Mamas worked together to just LOVE this baby!

Ratchet is very sweet (at least once he is tired) and loves to sleep on your lap. He also LOVES his puffy blue bed, thinks everyone in the world (including cats) want to play with him, and when he sniffs something cool he lifts a front paw and points like a little hunting dog. He gets chilled easily and will even sometimes put his head through his hoodie (bought just because he shivers so much!) himself. Ratchet MUST be an inside dog with outside playtime. He does not have the long hair or mass to survive living outside. Sorry, but this its part of the deal.
