A pristine copy of Action Comics #1 — which introduced Superman for the first time — sold on eBay for $3,207,852, a record. When it originally hit newsstands in 1938, the comic sold for 10 cents.

Gold thief offers to pay for pilfered nugget

A man suspected of walking out of a Juneau, Alaska, jewelry store with a gold nugget worth nearly $5,000 developed a conscience and paid for it — after his image was distributed by police through a "crime stoppers" program.
