BOISE, Idaho (AP) — Ada County officials have released the name of a 32-year-old Garden City man who drowned while fishing in the Boise River over the weekend.

The coroner's office says Jeffrey Summerlin was fishing near the ParkCenter Bridge on Saturday morning when he was swept under the water.

Witnesses told Boise police that Summerlin was wearing fishing waders that appeared to fill with water.

Summerlin was unresponsive when rescuers pulled him out of the water about 50 minutes after he was swept away. He was taken to the hospital, where he later died.
