A wildfire burning Wednesday through a dense Arizona forest has forced thousands of people from their homes, closed a major road and created a huge plume of smoke over the same area devastated by a blaze that killed 19 firefighters four years ago.
U.S. Attorney for Utah John Huber has appeared at the White House in support of two immigration measures, one that would stiffen the punishment for people who re-enter the U.S. illegally and another that would cut funding to "sanctuary" cities.

President Donald Trump is urging the House to pass legislation that would stiffen punishments on people who re-enter the U.S. illegally and for "sanctuary" jurisdictions that refuse to cooperate with federal deportation forces.
A car fleeing Louisiana State Police troopers crashed in New Orleans on Wednesday, killing a 2-year-old girl and a man who were thrown from the vehicle, authorities said. A third man killed himself at the scene.
