HYRUM, Utah (AP) — A 2-year-old boy has drowned after falling into a river.
The Salt Lake Tribune reports (http://bit.ly/2qetb3z ) the child wandered away from his family's campsite Sunday in Blacksmith Fork Canyon.
According to a news release from the Cache County Sheriff's Office, family members realized the child was missing and called 911 when they were unable to locate him.
The release states the boy was found unresponsive about two hours later in the Left Fork waterway about a half-mile downstream from the family's campsite. The waterway feeds into the Blacksmith Fork River.
The family is from Box Elder County. The identity of the child has not yet been released.
