CALDWELL, Idaho (AP) — An Idaho man involved in a shooting that injured a 10-year-old girl struck by a stray bullet has been sentenced to at least seven years in prison.

The Idaho Press-Tribune reports (http://bit.ly/2m7OO84 ) that 22-year-old Ezri Garcia on Tuesday was sentenced to serve a fixed term of seven years, with 12 years indeterminate, for aggravated battery. In November, Garcia pleaded guilty to the charge with a great bodily harm enhancement and felony riot with a gang enhancement.

Garcia and Mario Garza were charged after a June 29 shootout at a Nampa Walmart near where families had gathered to watch a fireworks show as part of a festival. The 10-year-old was struck in the shoulder, and surgeons were unable to remove the bullet due to possible nerve damage.

Garza pleaded guilty in November and is set to be sentenced next week.
