SALT LAKE CITY (AP) — Murder charges have been filed against a 25-year-old man accused of a pair of killings in Magna more than a year ago.
Brandon Beau Warren was charged in 3rd District Court with the two counts of first-degree felony murder and 11 counts of felony discharge of a firearm.
He's accused in the fatal shootings of Stevan Chambers and Shelli Brown.
Chambers was found dead in Magna in August 2015. Brown's body was discovered two days later in a park about a half-mile away.
Police said last year the two victims were acquaintances and investigators believed the shootings were related. The charging documents say both were shot with the same .380-caliber handgun.
The Desert News reports that Warren is currently a patient at the Utah State Hospital. It's not clear if he has a lawyer.
