CEDAR CITY, Utah (AP) — Three homes have been evacuated due to a wildfire burning south of Cedar City.
The Spectrum reports (http://bit.ly/2diLraq ) that more than 2 square miles of state, federal and private lands near Kanarraville Mountains have already been burned as of Monday. Three homes have been threatened and evacuated and a subdivision is currently on standby for possible evacuation.
The fire is believed to have been started as a controlled burn on private property nearly three weeks ago. The blaze rekindled Sunday due to high winds. It was officially declared a wildfire by the State Fire Warden early Monday.
Roads in the area are closed, except for emergency response vehicles. No injuries have been reported.
