TOOELE, Utah (AP) — Police have captured a Utah man after he led them on several high-speed chases to avoid arrest.
Utah Highway Patrol Sgt. Andrew Prescott tells The Deseret News (http://bit.ly/2daSAHm ) that officers became involved in several chases with a 25-year-old Murray man Saturday night after spotting him driving recklessly on Interstate 80.
Prescott says the driver led officers on chases that reached speeds of 90 and 100 mph, but forced police to call off the pursuit by twice driving into oncoming traffic. Police say he ended a third chase by speeding off the freeway.
Prescott says troopers had road spikes and a helicopter ready when the driver was next spotted on I-80.
The sergeant says the driver made it to a motel parking lot, where he was arrested on multiple charges.
