Medical examiner: Firefighter who died had heart disease

ORFORD, N.H. (AP) — A medical examiner has determined that a New Hampshire firefighter who died in the line of duty passed away of natural causes due to heart disease.

The state fire marshal's office says Charles Waterbury was fighting a brush fire in Lyme when he suffered a medical emergency.

The Orford firefighter was taken to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Waterbury was an active member of the town's fire department for about 10 years.

A funeral has been scheduled for Saturday morning in Orford.

Waterbury leaves behind a daughter.
