PHILADELPHIA (AP) — A former city councilman from Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, is accused of stealing parking passes and food vouchers from a media logistics operation for the Democratic National Convention.
Philadelphia prosecutors say Brad Koplinski also was found to have the stolen Republican National Convention credentials of a Washington Post editor.
The prosecutor's office said Tuesday that Koplinski was arrested at the Pennsylvania Convention Center on Sunday. He's charged with burglary, trespassing, theft and receiving stolen property. Security camera footage led to the arrest.
Koplinski was a councilman for eight years, and finished fourth in the 2014 Democratic primary for lieutenant governor.
His cellphone wasn't accepting messages Tuesday, and court records don't list a lawyer for him.
The Post said the credentials were stolen before the editor arrived in Cleveland for the RNC, and that it reported the theft.
