RENO, Nev. (AP) — A 51-year-old Reno man has died from injuries he suffered when he was struck by a car while crossing a downtown street.

Pay they found James Barrett lying in the street at the intersection of Center and Maple streets when they responded to a call about an injured pedestrian shortly after 1 a.m. Sunday.

Barrett was taken to a Reno hospital, where he died on Monday.

Reno police Sgt. Joe Lever said a preliminary investigation indicates Barrett was crossing Maple street against a "don't walk" signal when he was hit by the eastbound vehicle that had a green traffic light just south of Interstate 80.

Lever says neither alcohol nor speed appears to be a factor in the crash.

Anyone with information should contact Reno police at 775-334-2115 or Secret Witness at 775-322-4900.
