MOSCOW, Idaho (AP) — The University of Idaho says it will offer a new class this fall using "Pokemon Go" to teach students about leading active lifestyles, teamwork and exploring their communities.
The school on Friday says the physical activity class called Pop Culture Games is listed in the 2016 fall schedule and will earn course credits.
Course instructor Steven Bird says "Pokemon Go" encourages students who might normally avoid organized exercise to get outside and move about and meet other players.
In the game, players search for digital creatures that pop up on smartphone screens as they move through real-world locations.
