DENVER (AP) — Authorities say Denver Broncos wide receiver Cody Latimer was arrested on an outstanding misdemeanor warrant after he called the Arapahoe County Sheriff's Office to report that he was involved in a domestic disturbance with a woman.
Sheriff's spokeswoman Julie Brooks says Latimer, 23, reported the dispute early Monday morning. Deputies then found that he was wanted for failing to appear in Denver court for a traffic violation.
The woman, identified in court records as Jaimee Rando, 25, was arrested for assault and disturbing the peace. Latimer posted her $200 bail Tuesday.
Court documents don't indicate if Rando has hired an attorney, and her phone has been disconnected.
Latimer tweeted Tuesday that he believes he handled the situation correctly and he did not know about the unrelated, unpaid traffic ticket.
