NASHUA, N.H. (AP) — A New Hampshire state trooper barely escaped injury when a driver smashed into the rear of his cruiser, parked on the side of the Everett Turnpike in Nashua with its emergency lights on.
Authorities say Trooper Mark Dore was assisting a motorist who'd run of gas when 79-year-old Carolyn Mulrooney of Nashua drove into the back of the cruiser.
The impact sent the cruiser into the other woman's Jeep Grand Cherokee, at the point where police say Dore had been standing seconds earlier.
Mulrooney was taken to Saint Joseph's Hospital for treatment of minor injuries. She also was cited for violating the "move over law" when approaching emergency vehicles.
Dore and the other driver, 47-year-old Rachel Lessard of Nashua, were not hurt.
The accident happened at 10 a.m. Saturday.
