MURRELLS INLET, S.C. (AP) — Crews have recovered the body of a boater missing in the Waccamaw River in Murrells Inlet.

Georgetown County Coroner Kenny Johnson tells local media outlets that the body of 17-year-old Jacob Causey of Murrells Inlet was found around 11 a.m. Tuesday.

Causey had been the subject of a search after the small boat he was in struck a channel marker in the river Monday evening. Another person in the boat was also thrown overboard but was rescued.

The coroner said Causey suffered a head injury but an autopsy will be conducted Wednesday to determine the cause of death.
