BREMERTON, Wash. (AP) — Charges have been filed against the driver of an SUV accused of hitting and seriously injuring two teenage girls after they got off a school bus in Bremerton.

The Kitsap Sun reports (http://goo.gl/N7b6i7 ) that 41-year-old Randy Allen Payne was charged Tuesday in Kitsap District Court with felony vehicular assault, for being under the influence of drugs and hit and run. He is being held in the Kitsap County jail on $100,000 bail.

Two girls, 13 and 14, were taken to a local hospital after the Monday afternoon crash.

According to charging documents, Payne showed signs of narcotic impairment. He reportedly told police he was looking for his son when he drove his SUV by the schoolchildren and noticed he hit something. He is accused of not stopping after the collision and continuing to drive home. An officer found him on his front porch.
