LONG BEACH, Miss. (AP) — The president of the University of Southern Mississippi says a new gateway entrance at the Gulf Park campus is a symbol of the school's commitment to growth and progress.
President Rodney Bennett and other officials gathered Friday in Long Beach to celebrate completion of two curved stucco and concrete signs at the entrance to the campus in Long Beach. They have the words, "The University of Southern Mississippi Gulf Park Campus" and show the university seal.
The signs are similar to others on the university's main campus in Hattiesburg.
A university news release says walkways, curbs and lights were also added on the Gulf Park campus to provide a safer environment for pedestrians.
