Utica College selects its first female president

UTICA, N.Y. (AP) — Utica College is getting its first female president.

The central New York college's board of trustees selected Laura Casamento to become president beginning Aug. 1.

Casamento is currently Utica College's executive vice president and chief advancement officer. She has been with the school since 2004 and previously served as president of the Herkimer County Trust bank.

She succeeds Todd S. Hutton, who is retiring.
